November cafe stop at the IP…or there abouts

Nov 21, 2021 | Ride Blog

A shorter than usual ride today – riders set off on a fine, if chilly November morning intending to sample the delights of the Independent Pedaler.

After the usual short climb up London Road we were greeted by the low morning winter sun as we traversed the top of the escarpment onto our first turn to the north at Court-at-Street down the leafy lanes to the M20 bridge, followed by a short moment on the A20 then onto to Brabourne, Hastingleigh, Petham and Patrixborne.

Mike W thought perhaps the Tadpole Tea Rooms would be a nice change and was on the same route. We sped past Mama Feelgood’s making a mental note to visit this inviting and interesting cafe soon. On past the Independent Pedaler and down to the Tadpole Tea Rooms. It was stuffed, but luckily a table vacated as we rocked in. As always, we received service with a smile and were quickly served from their extensive selection of delicious scones, cakes and drinks.

From there it was a fast run home via Barham and down the Elham valley with a brisk tail wind.
